10 Big Picture, Impact Player Tenets that Lead to Success - Part I
——————————————————————-
In my previous post, I talked about how you must have different thinking to be successful. Part of that different thinking is to see yourself as a Difference Maker and an Impact Player. Also, to see yourself as a Difference Maker, you have to have a bigger vision for your life and the world. You have to take different actions.
There are 10 Impact Player Tenets I want to share with you. But first, let’s be on the same page as to what the word “tenet” means. Dictionary.com defines “tenet” as a principle held as being true by a person; a rule; or a set of fundamental beliefs or a guiding principles.
So these 10 Impact Player, Difference Maker Tenets are like a set of guiding principles or a life’s philosophy that a person would use to garner success in his or her life. Success is a result of many tiny actions and behaviors caused by the “right” mindset and attitude. A mindset based on solid, powerful principles that will support you as you make your journey towards your dreamed of life.
- Tenet # 1: You MUST put others first. This tenet or belief will show up in your actions, thoughts, behaviors and deeds. At home, at work or your business, and at play.
If you have a business, this should be the foundation upon which you build it … especially if you are in a Network Marketing or have a service business. By showing that you put others’ success and needs over and above your own, your customers, clients and business partners will “feel” your authenticity. They will trust you. They will want to do “business” with you - personally and professionally.
Play for other people to win; NOT to play for you not to lose! Share your skills, talents, and gifts to help others have a better life.
Start having a bigger vision for yourself, your life and others:
- develop a healthy “ego” so that you are able to put others first easily and for the higher good of all;
- learn to be humble; and
- learn to be gracious in your giving, sharing and helping.
- Tenet # 2: Make things happen. No matter what’s going on in your life, make the “MAIN THING” the main thing! No matter the odds or the circumstances, always look for the good in people and in negative situations. This is especially important when “EEEVERYTHING” seems to be going the wrong way for you no matter what you do. Keep your dream(s) and goals in focus. Take a few moments, in times of stress, to picture the end result of your dream, how you will feeeel, how your life will be filled with joy. After visualizing your dream, let your inner wisdom give you a message as to what step to take next. It’s these actions that will help you get out of the negative spiral you seem to be in. By being persistent and consistent, taking those intuitive action steps, you will make things happen. You’ll be seen as a difference maker and an impact player because you don’t allow yourself to become a victim of circumstances.
- Tenet # 3: You must have a GRRReat attitude. Take responsibility for when things aren’t going well. Don’t make excuses or try to shift blame onto someone or something else. Instead analyze what went wrong and figure out what to do to correct the situation instead. Then take those corrective actions. When things go well, give credit and praise to those around you who helped bring about the success. Let them know how much you appreciated their efforts and support. Also, make sure that your praise is heard by everyone involved or connected to your project, business venture or activity. Your team members and partners will truly appreciate the recognition you give them for their efforts.
